drum scanning

502-690-6433
Because a photomultiplier tube is much more sensitive to light than a charge-coupled device, Drum Scanners can produce scans superior to those of flatbed scanners, both in resolution and in the gradations of color and brightness. Also, since drum scanners have the advantage in resolution, their use is generally recommended when a scanned image is going to be greatly enlarged. Drum Scanners spin your original Film around on a drum while a fixed  laser or other beam of light looks at the Film as it spins. There's nothing like a true Drum Scan to extract every detail from your 35mm slide transparencies or 4 x 5, 8x10 film as well as large original reflective art and other photographic work. For color critical commercial printing projects or large, high-resolution images for wide format printing, a Drum Scanner is the best choice for pulling  every bit of detail from your original and maintaining total color control over every step of creating fine Large format prints.
